Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Merthyr Tydfil (MER) and Abercynon (ACY) until 14:30.

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Merthyr Tydfil (MER) and Abercynon (ACY):

Services will be cancelled from Merthyr Tydfil (MER) towards Abercynon (ACY).

We expect the incident to last until 14:30 and disruption to services is expected from 12:30 until 15:30.

Services are now returning to normal. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.

If one of our trains is delayed or cancelled and you arrive at your destination station more than 15 minutes later than scheduled, you can claim compensation through 'Delay Repay'. Delay Repay | TfW

Customers can use local bus services between Merthyr and Pontypridd to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • 78/79/81/X4/60/61 Stagecoach Services.

Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Bargoed (BGD) and Gilfach Fargoed (GFF) until 18:00.

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Bargoed (BGD) and Gilfach Fargoed (GFF):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Rhymney (RHY) and Ystrad Mynach (YSM).

We expect the incident to last until 16:00 and disruption to services is expected until 18:00.

We have been made aware of a signalling problem Rhymney and Ystrad Mynach.

As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the signalling system is working normally.

Our colleagues at Amey Infrastructure are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area/signalling.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Due to a points failure between Coryton (COY) and Heath Low Level (HLL):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Coryton (COY) and Heath Low Level (HLL).

We expect the incident to last until 14:00 and disruption to services is expected until 16:00.

We have been made aware of a points failure Between Coryton and Heath Low Level.

As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the points have been fixed.

Our colleagues at Amey Infrastructure are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area/points.
